ROAD TRIP!!

What you need for a road trip!

For those of you that don’t know I’m on my way to California from Phoenix AZ!

I have not done the 5-hour drive for a few months, but this time ill have a passenger!

Last night we planned on what was needed for this road trip!

Music:
We made 2 CD’s
1.Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger, new one has some great driving songs
2.Adele CD 21.
3. We are also bringing the IPod to connect to the car when the radio goes out some where in the middle of the desert!

Snacks:
Make sure you have something to snack on incase there’s nowhere to get food when you get hungry. Or for us when we get bored! Don’t forget drinks, if bringing water pack your BOBBLE!!

Car:
Make sure to get your car looked at before driving long distance; last thing you want is to be stuck on a two lane road in the middle of nowhere, scary movie status!!

Packing:
Depends on how long your staying, pack what you know you will need and a few extra articles of clothing incase something comes up, like weather change or dinner plans. My advice do not pack the night or hour before you leave, like I do.

Phone:
Make sure you have one and make sure it’s charged!

Fun:
Try and make your road trip as fun as you can! I hate being in the car but bringing someone with me will make that better! Don’t for get its okay to stop!

GOING GREEN WITH WATER BOBBLE & MORE!!

LETS GO GREEN!

So many people these days are going green!

Some times it feels harder then it truly is.

Start with something small and work your way up.

The first thing I did when trying to go green was, stop using plastic water bottles.
The pink one i have!

I used a filtered pitcher (it took up a lot of room it my collage fridge) but it was worth it.

I saved so much money on not buying water bottles and was saving the world one glass of water at a time.

Then I was introduced to the Water Bobble, best little thing around!

The one Sophia Bush created!
It’s a water bottle that filters as you drink, and in Arizona it’s a lifesaver.

You can fill it up anywhere because it filters the water for you!

I have two of them, a pink one and one that Sophia Bush (from One Tree Hill) created!

Now Bobble has come out with something new, I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

It’s the Bobble Jug it comes in so many colors! Its slim so it dose not take up as much room! (I would get rid of my other one just for that reason alone)

It also has a faster filter another amazing reason to get it!

You can also use it as a serving jug and it fits into the doors of your fridge!

I’m getting my Jug and selling my other huge water filter the garage sale I’m having this weekend!

You can buy these products at target and Here.

The new Jug!

They also sell other products that are amazing, the Bobble (in many sizes & colors), The Jug, filters for Bobble and Jug, Hard and soft lunch bags (come with a Bobble), Bobble brush (to clean Bobble), Packs of the Bobbles (great for gifts), and last but not least the Limited Edition Bobble By Sophia Bush!

You will love Bobble so go get one today!!!

GO GREEN!!

Sunday TV Show!!!

Happy Sunday all!!!

If you don’t know this about me, I have always been a Law and Order fan and then I was a huge Criminal Minds fan and now I am a fan of another show!

I have been catching up on all the episodes for the past few weeks.

I would have to say this is my new favorite show and it is DEXTER!!!

I know I’m a little behind but the show didn’t sound like my cup of tea and I don’t get Showtime!

But I kept hearing about how great it is and now I am hooked!

If you are already a fan, then we can both agree that it’s amazing!

If you have not seen it yet and it doesn’t seam like you will like it, let me just tell you….you will be hooked after the first episode.

It’s not as gory as it sounds, it’s got some great humor, it has some scary parts (not to scary) and I even found my self-getting teary eyed in some episodes!

This show has almost a love hate relationship, you love Dexter for the person he is and you kind of love him for getting rid of only the “bad” people and then there are times where your like what’s wrong with him and you want him handcuffed and thrown in jail!

Its kind of like a TV version of Law Abiding Citizen, but not at the same time!

I don’t want to give to much away for all of you who may not have watched it, but find a play to catch your self up online and start watching! You wont be disappointed!!

The new episode is on tonight and I cant wait to watch it!!

Let me know what are some of your favorite parts!!

Have a great day!!

HAIR SPRAY LOVIN' ~BUMBLE & BUMBLE~

This is the one I use!

If there is one thing I will pay full price for its…Bumble and Bumble hair spray!

Well really anything Bumble and Bumble!

I have been using their hair spray for some time now and not only is it the best out there it also smells the best!

I have used all of their hairsprays and I used the purple one every day!

My hair last all daylong and then some when I use it.

Some hair sprays are heavy and weigh your hair down.

This one is light but dose the job!

One bottle last me about 4 months some times longer!!!

It’s a must try, you wont go back to anything else!

The next thing I want to try from B&B is the texture cream!!
What do you think??

Let me know if you have tried it and like it.

Easy Fall Breakfast! SEMI HOME MADE!!!

Spiced Pancakes!

This morning I was in the mood for pancakes, but I have been making all these fall meals so I had to spice it up a bit.

Now lets get one thing straight, I did not make these pancakes scratch.
(Would have taken to long and I was to hungry)

I took bisquick’s shake and poor added the water

&

a ton of Pumpkin Pie Spice and shook it.

I made one and tasted it and thought it needed more.

If you plan on trying this, put as much as YOU want for your taste.

If you have time to make them homemade you can always take pumpkin puree and mix it in for a yummy warm fall breakfast the whole family will love.

I call my recipe semi home made!

~Pumpkin Cheesecake Dessert~

Don’t want to make a pumpkin pie? Want everyone to have a great fall dessert?
Here are 3 steps to an amazing Pumpkin dessert!!

GINGER-PUMPKIN CHEESE CAKE PARFAITS
(Makes 6 to 8 servings)

What you need from the store:
3 tablespoons butter
1-pound gingersnaps cookies, coarsely crushed
2 (8-ounce) Packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup pumpkin puree
½ cup sugar & 2 tablespoons
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream

3 steps for the amazingness:

1. In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add crushed gingersnaps, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. Remove from skillet immediately, and cool.

2. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese at medium speed with a mixer until smooth; add pumpkin puree. ½ cup sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla, beating just until combined. In parfait glasses (you can also use shot glasses or coffee mugs like I did) layer crushed gingersnaps and cream cheese mixture as desired. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.

3.In a small bowl, beat whipping cream and remaining 2 tablespoons sugar at medium-high speed with a mixer until soft peaks form. Dollop whipped cream over parfaits. Sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice, if desired. Served with gingersnap cookies!

Supper Yummy!

These will be a hit at any party! Make them when carving pumpkins, at your Halloween party, or on Halloween!

Thanks to Paula Deen for this idea!

BYE BYE FRIZZ...HELLO REDKEN!!!

Last time I got my hair done I told my hair lady that my hair was supper frizzy and nothing I did was fixing it.

I told her I planed on changing shampoo to see if that would help…She asked me what I was using

At the time I was using herbal essences (her eyes got supper big) I laughed.

I was only using it because it was what my dad had picked out when we were moving me into my new place.

I told her I normally use Pantene (her eyes got even bigger) I told her it smells good and it makes my hair supper soft.

She told me it’s from all the wax that’s in it. She told me to try Redken.

Redken is a little pricier then the other two, but if you’re like me you don’t go through it that fast.

I went on the Redken website to see what kinds they had and what would be best for my hair.

I picked the one for curly hair; my hair is short and I normally curl it.

Let me tell you!!!! Even when I let my hair air dry its not frizzy and its light enough that my hair will still curl! Not only that but its kept my color fresh!

If you’re looking to change shampoos, I would switch to redkin!
This is the one i use! Smells amazing!!!

Don’t like the regular price tag? Get it on eBay for way cheaper, that’s what I did!!

HOME MADE POT PIES IN 5 STEPS! YUMMY FALL FEAST!

Last night I made an amazing fall inspired dinner that anyone could do!

It was homemade chicken potpie!

It had amazing veggies, big chunks of chicken and yummy flavors!

I cut up all my veggies and put them in different bowls, then when I went to make it I felt like I was in my own cooking show and it made it so much easier to cook.

I also cooked almost everything in the pot so all the flavors were in one pot and they all came together perfectly!

If you are having people over this is a perfect fall dinner.

You can make people their own, by putting them in there own ramekins!

Now the only think I did not make from scratch was the crust, it would have been way better with my own but if you don’t have time just buy a store bought pie crust or even store bought biscuits to make it light and flaky.

FRESH VEGGIES
Here is the recipe

WHAT YOU NEED:

1 tbsp olive oil
8 oz white button mushrooms, sliced (I bought ones that support breast cancer)
1 diced onion
2 cups sliced carrots
1 cup sliced celery
4 cups cold chicken broth, divided (I put a mine in different cups & put them in
fridge as the first thing I did so it would get cold)
6 tbsps butter
½ cup all-purpose flour
2 lbs skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into cubes (I used a little bit more then
2lbs so every bite had chicken)
1 cup frozen green peas
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme leaves or a pinch of dried (I used a few dashes of dried)
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper (I did not measure this I put some and tasted it, same for salt)
1 ½ pounds pie dough (I only covered the tops of mine and needed 3 store crust)
6 large ramekins (15 oz) I used 3 large and 1 larger ramekins (depends on who your
 feeding)
1 egg beaten

HOW TO PUT IT TOGEATHER:

Pre-heat oven to 400

Step 1:

In a pot, sauté the mushrooms and onions in the olive oil over medium heat until golden. Add the carrots, celery, and 2 cups cold chicken broth. Bring to a boil, reduce to low and simmer until the vegetables are almost tender.

Step 2:

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Wisk in the flour and cook, stirring, for 4 minutes, or until the flour is light tan color and smells like cooked piecrust. Slowly whisk in 2 cups of cold chicken broth. Simmer over medium low heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, and reserve.

Step 3:
Put the thick mixture into your pot of veggies and broth once they are ready, and stir to combine. Add the chicken, peas, thyme, salt and pepper. Bring back to a simmer and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes. Taste for seasoning and set aside until needed.
SIZES OF RAMEKINS

Step 4:

Divide the pot pie filling between the 6 ramekins. (Leave ½ in from top) Cut out circles of pie dough 1 inch larger then the width of the ramekin. Place the dough over potpies. Go around each piece of dough, folding a ½ inch over to form a rim. If desired, pinch with your fingertips to form a crimped edge. Cut a small “X” in the center of each crust.

Step 5:

THIS IS WHAT MINE LOOKED LIKE
Place the ramekins on the sheet pan. Brush the tops with the beaten egg. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until pies are golden brown and bubble. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

ENJOY!!!

LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS FOR YOU!!!!

6 STEPS TO AN AMAZING EASY DINNER!

Need a simple and delish meal that wont brake the bank??

This weekend I made the perfect dinner that wont kill your budget!

Eggplant Parmesan that was a hit and to die for!

Not an eggplant person, you can uses zucchini as well!

The whole thing only cost me $30 and there was not a drop of it left after the weekend.

The recipe is simple and easy, you may want some extra hands in the kitchen for a few of the steps but if not just uses a few forks.

Here the amazingness:

Ingredients:
2 Medium eggplants cut lengthwise
2 jars good quality tomato sauce
2 cups all purpose flour
5 large eggs
3 ½ cups Italian breadcrumbs
1 cup grated parmigiano-reggiano
1lb fresh mozzarella
Salt and pepper
Olive oil

Kitchenware:
Chefs knife
Cutting board
Measuring cups
Mixing spoons
Skillet
Tongs
Whisk
Casserole dish

Directions:

Step one:
Stir together flour, salt and pepper in a large dish. Lightly beat eggs in a second, high-sided dish. Stir together breadcrumbs and 1/3-cup parmigiano-reggiano in a third shallow bowl.

Step two:
Heat small amount oil in a non-stick skillet to medium high heat

Step Three:
Working with one slice at a time, dredge eggplant in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in egg, letting excess drip off, and dredge in breadcrumbs until evenly coated. Transfer eggplant directly to hot oil.

Step four:
Fry eggplant 4 slices at a time, turning over once, until golden brown, 5 to 6 minutes per batch. Transfer with tongs to paper towels to drain.

Step five:
Spread 1 cup of tomato sauce in bottom of baking dish. Arrange about one third of eggplant slices in 1 layer over sauce, overlapping slightly if necessary. Cover eggplant with about one third of remaining sauce and one third of mozzarella. Continue layering with remaining eggplant, sauce, and mozzarella. Sprinkle top with remaining 1/3 cup of parmigiano-reggiano

Step 6:
Bake, uncovered, until cheese is melted ad golden and sauce is bubbling, 35 to 40 minutes. The most important thing is to have the cheese NOT burn!

AND THEN ENJOY!!!!!!

HALLOWEEN PEDI SAVINGS THANKS TO OPI

Its that time of year when I go out and get a Pedi to match the theme of the month!

This month I think ill be skipping that trip for a few reasons!

1. I want to keep my money in my pocket
PROS & BRONZE
2.  I found a cheep way to have a great themed nail for Halloween!!!

OPI has two amazing colors that you can use for that perfect look!

There is even a big savings in all of this!!!

If you go get a Pedi they can be any where from $20-$60, I normally end up spending $45 for the Pedi $3 for a design and tip $5 so I am now spending $53 bucks to make my nails look cute for the month.

Here is my Trick to getting almost all that for only $10

I bought OPI’s PROS & BRONZE & OPI’s BLACK SHATTER

PROS & BRONZE is a great over all fall color!

Black shatter gives you that creepy fun Halloween design and you don’t even have to get all-fancy with the tools.
BLACK SHATTER

Take your first layer of Pros and Bronze and let it dry then top it with black shatter. It gives it just enough orange and black for the season!!

Now I bought each color off of eBay to save me some money and only spent $13!

My savings for this is $40!

Now you can cash this $40 and buy some new shoes like I did and still have money left over or you can keep that $40 for next month and treat your self to the Pedi!!

Hope you enjoy!!

CLOROX TOILET BOWL CLEANER & OTHER USES

Here's for my first BLOG!! WOO HOO

So the other day I got out of the shower and noticed that it was a little dirty in one corner!

The only cleaning product I had upstairs was Clorox Toilet cleaner with bleach!

So I poured a little in that spot just to see if it would clean that area.

I finished getting ready for my shopping trip at Last Chance (the place I buy stuff for eBay) and forgot about the cleaner!

When I came back to shower the next morning it was still there, I cleaned it off and the spot was supper WHITE & CLEAN!!

I then used it on my whole shower! Looks better then new!!

So I now know that I no longer need shower cleaner!

This is what I used!! I buy the 2 Pack!
If you take the cost of the Clorox toilet bowl cleaner, I buy a two pack about $5 and you dont buy shower cleaner you are saving a good chunk on change!

The Bottle should last you a month or longer if you use it for both!

You will be saving enough to have extra money for a starbucks fund or something you like to get as a treat!

*Hope you enjoy! More to come! Let me know if it works for you!!**
